In 2018, When I was little, my dad got an emu egg sent to him from his family in Australia. His mother, my Grandma, had sent him this egg as a gift for him and I. As soon as I laid eyes on this egg I was immediately stunned. This egg wasn't like the white like the eggs at home, this egg was black! This egg wasn't small like the eggs at home, this egg was huge. It was as big as my hand, the egg wasn't heavy though, it was hollowed out and lightweight. I always found it fascinating to look at this egg in my free time. It was black with speckled white dots, it was beautiful. This made me think of what used to be in the egg, and what was to come from it. How could something so big start off so much smaller. I had visited Australia with my family a few times in the past, and many times when we were there we visited the local Zoo where I saw real Emu’s. One day I came home from school and went to look at my egg, but I couldn't find it. When I went to ask my dad, he started apologizing. He had stepped on my egg. At first, I was mad and sad. This was one of my favorite objects. Then I realized I couldn't be mad at my dad, he was the only reason I had got this egg in the first place. Now, every time I think about my egg, it always makes me think about the story of where things come from and the things they produce, because just like I wouldn't have ever gotten that egg without my dad, that egg would never have existed without his.
