I have two cultures that I am proud of, African and Puerto Rican. My mother's side of the family is Puerto Rican. Most of the elders in the family were migrants from Puerto Rico. When they entered the U.S. they brought their culture and part of that culture was the food. One food item that I love and really sticks out to me is the empanadas. My family makes it in a way where I just can’t get enough! The ingredients and how influences from their culture are put into it is awesome. There are many ways to make empanadas, but I think my family makes the best by far!
