My object for the tenement museum is my family’s elf lights. These lights have been passed down from generation to generation for use on our Christmas Trees.  When the holiday season comes around and we get a christmas tree, we always put them around the tree. When my grandmother was a kid, it was hung on my grandmother’s tree. When my dad was a kid, it was hung on his tree. Now, I am a kid and it is hung on my tree. Whenever we hang these on the tree, we think of my grandmother and her mom.
To get the elf light shining we have to string christmas light around the tree and put the elf on the light. Then the elf is bright  for all to see!
