El fogon is a item used to cook food. It is made of cemento blanco and when dry it turns hard. When your done using it you can use the ashes to paint a coat over in order to preserve it. This is an important item to my culture as its connected to Dominican Republic and has been used for more than 3 generations. when my grandmother introduced this to me she would tell me how this was there way of cooking without power or stoves. Lena is a type of wood and the best type of wood to use in order to start it. In order for it to work you have to use a match, gasoline and paper in order to start a fire. To find lena you have to go into the woods and its usually very deep in the forest.
