El Ceybo
My object is artisanal. It is furniture used to put dishes inside, also known as a china cabinet. It is constructed from caoba wood, and it is about 70 years old. It was made in the Dominican Republic. The history behind it is that my mother used it my whole life. The ceybo is very important for me because it was my mother’s. She used it in her house every day of my life. I remember her having four pieces of crystal for drinking coffee, that my brother gave her as a present for Mother’s Day when he was a little boy. When she died, my sister took them for my nephew. The ceybo is so important because my mother used it my whole life. After my mother died my sister took it for my house.
