Earrings from my grandfather
I watched a video by Reyna Grande whose object was a dress made out of tablecloth.
My objects are earrings from my grandfather.
Until I was five years old, I wore plain diamond studs in my ears. I never changed them, or had the urge to. Just simple, ordinary earrings. When I turned five, I went to India, and I got small golden hoop earrings with diamonds decorating the bottoms from my grandfather. That same year, my grandfather passed away, due to cancer. I missed him, and these earrings were the last I had left of him. Wearing them felt like a part of him was with me. That was when I finally changed my earrings. I still wear them to this day because they remind me that change is okay. They remind me of where I'm from. They remind me of my grandfather
