I am a mix of Cape Verdean and Portuguese. On my dad's side of the family my grandmother and he siblings immigrated from Portugal to Cape Verde where she met my grandfather and they got married and had 7 children, one of those being my dad. When my dad came to meet my mother who was born on the island and whose family was also born on the island. They had me and years later. While dad was in his 30's in 2010, him and all of his siblings immigrated to the United States, specifically Boston, Massachusetts.  Our family members have been immigrating to the US for years to come but this is how my close family did it. After two years I immigrated to the US to stay with my dad. Then, after 3 more years my mother came and we moved from Boston and bought a house in Brockton. Every year more and more family member immigrate here for the hopes of a better life and they will continue to do so.
