Every culture has multiple holidays where family and friends come together to celebrate. My parents were born in India and came to the United States in 1997. They brought many traditions and holidays with them. One of the holidays that they brought was Diwali. It is a special holiday where everyone comes together to my house every year. My family and I decorate my house, make tons of food, and have fun with loved ones. We buy tea lights and place them around the house. Our house is filled with light. My mom spends the whole day making delicious, traditional foods. Guests start to come, and the festivities begin. Music begins to play, adult start to mingle and dance, while all the children run upstairs to meet their friends. Towards the end of the night, we walk to the park and light fireworks. This holiday is a fun, lively event that brings people together.
