Die Bären
These little figurines have been passed down from my great grandparents that originate from Germany. They traveled to America when World War 2 ended and settled in Kentucky. Although they brought many things, most of them were placed inside museums or taken for history purposes; we were able to keep a few of these figures to be reminded of them. My mother holds these very deep in her heart as she feels this is a part of her. When I was a kid, I was never allowed by the hutch that they are placed in. They were never touched unless we moved or they needed to be cleaned, which my mother does. To this day, I plan on passing these down to my children so they can forever be reminded of my great grandparents and their journeys.
