Diamond Ring
When my great grandparents got married, my great grandfather did not have money to buy my great grandmother a wedding ring. They had just moved into a house together, and while my great grandmother was dusting, she came across the ring in a dustball. She wore it as her wedding ring from that point on. When she passed, my grandmother received the ring. She would always wear it until she felt it was time to pass it on to my mother because she was the eldest granddaughter. My mom used to wear it every day, reminding her of her grandparents. Due to it being wore for so long by so many people, the gold wore down and the ring broke. My mom still holds on to it as a sentiment of our past, and one day it will be passed on to me, being the eldest daughter in my family.
