Dad weekend
Over the years ever since I was a little kid me and my cousins had “Dad weekend”. It was when all our moms would work on the weekends, and the dads would take us to do fun stuff like bike rides, the pool, Twins games, the mall and so much more. The seasons were all filled with joy no matter what. When we were together it didn’t matter it was below -0 outside, our fingers would be numb like icicles, but we didn’t care because we just wanted to play in the snow with each other. These are the brightest memories I have as a child and always make me smile thinking of them. The sweet taste of summer when the colors always seemed brighter, the water was always clearer and it just felt like summer would never end. Summer was, and is always my favorite. Going up to the cabin to celebrate the 4th of July, my birthday, pool days, the state fair, and just the fact my cousins were always there. Because we were all always there for each other. Yet we're not blood related, We're still family, because our dads taught us “family is there for each other and that’s what makes us family” My family is what makes me, me. I think everyone needs those people who are always there for you. The older cousin that teaches you how to be cool at school, the younger ones that their only life goal is to annoy you, and the ones you could be around 24/7 and are basically your other half. Everyone’s view, memories, and definition of family is different. But all that matters is you have them,
