This cup and saucer belonged to my great grandmother, Alice Young. It is blue and white, with the scottish shrub heather along the edges. It was made by Foley Bone China in England in 1850. Alice’s mother gave the cup and saucer to Alice and her husband Alexander Young as something to have in America. They immigrated to the U.S. from Scotland between 1895-1900. She brought this as her prized possession in a trunk with all of their belongings. This has been in the Young family for six generations, originating in Scotland.
