When my mother was a baby her father traveled to multiple countries and was rarely home. In one of his trips to Cuba he bought my mother a handmade doll that he got because he wanted to bring a unique souvenir to his daughter from one of the many countries he had visited. This doll meant alot  to my mother because this wasn’t like your ordinary Barbie doll. This doll was hand made, every detail being made perfectly with a lot of care. The doll had gone through a lot, it had been ripped multiple times and put back together. Once my mom got older and moved to the United States she left the doll behind in Mexico and as time went on she had thought that the doll had gotten lost or thrown away. Little did she know my uncle had kept it this whole time for 18 years. Once he came to visit and surprised my mom with it, all old and ripped. She sewed the pieces that had fallen off back on the doll. Now the doll has been passed from my mom to me and my sister and soon will be kept passing on to other generations.
