A wooden cross

The object I chose that holds value to me and my family is a beautiful wooden cross that has been hanging in my home that is connected to my religion. My family's religion is coptic Orthodox Christianity. My grandparents were descendants of Egypt who moved to the United States to raise their future family. My mom has been here her entire life and has lived very differently than anyone else in our family but despite the differences, religion has always stayed constant through our family. Not until I became older and moved to Florida did I realize the importance of being Christian and the impact on my family. But as I became older it was opening to see the passion, dedication and happiness in my family brought by christianity. Going to church as a family and having a connection that runs deep through our family's past to the present day is very important to me. I am grateful to have such a custom to be carried with me that I hope to continue to share with my family and future generations.
