My cross necklace is important to me because it represents my family's religion. My religion is important to me. It signifies who I am and who I look to when things get hard, and I think I can't make it through. This cross represents the many generations in my family who have worn a cross to signify their religion and are proud to be wearing it. As long as I have this cross and am wearing it, I will always feel connected not just to god but to my family. I remember when I got this cross, it was Christmas of 2023, and I was at my grandma's house. She had asked what I wanted, and I had explained that my cross had just broke and I was really sad about it. The next week at Christmas, I had opened my present, and it was the cross necklace. I was super grateful and really appreciated that she had gotten me a new cross because to me, my cross feels like my identity, it's something that no one can take away from me. The cross necklace is just the object that signifies my devotion to my religion. I won't ever be able to get rid of this object, not only because it signifies my religion but also because my grandmother gave it to me. This is more than just an object its something my grandmother gave me, my identity, my religion.
