My artifact is a cowboy hat because my dad is from a ranch. My dad dropped out of school to help his family when he was young. My dad immigrated to my mom when they were in their 20s. Being the child of immigrants helps me understand what they had to sacrifice to be able to my family more opportunities. The cowboy hat helps remind me of where I'm from. Being American doesn't really mean anything to me.
