I am writing about a conch shell that I have known my whole life. This conch shell comes from a place called Vieques, which is located in Puerto Rico. The reason this shell is important to me is because my parents both lived in Vieques, and that is where they met. They ended up getting married in Vieques together, and that is where they found this shell. The shell was found during their marriage, and was brought back home as a symbol of their love and memories from Vieques. It brings a part of Vieques to me. Whenever I look at it, I can imagine the soft sand and quiet waves of the beach it was found on. You can also put your ear up to the opening and listen to the sounds of waves through it. I have a lot of good memories from Vieques, it feels like another home to me. I also have a childhood friend that lives there, so whenever I go to Vieques I get to visit her and it just brings back all the memories I had as a kid there. The Conch shell will forever be an important artifact to me because it brings a place that I hold dear to my heart back to my home.
