This is a sword that was used in Kerala in precolonial India. It is made with steel and it was used in combats back in those days. When I was a teenager, my grandmother introduced me to the sword which was housed in my grandfather's childhood home. This object connects with me because it helps me understand the struggles of my forefathers and their fights for freedom.
