Colorful Bracelet

This is a colorful bracelet made by the indigenous people of Panama. It is made of rocks of many colors. It was my Grandma’s. She took a trip in her early twenties (sixty years ago) to Panama. There, she visited the indigenous people of Panama. She wanted to learn about their culture and life styles. She made friends with the indigenous people, and was very sad when the time came to leave. As a parting gift, the people made her a bracelet of colorful rocks. Using colorful rocks showed that my grandma was dear to them. My grandma left happy to have learned, and to have received such a beautiful bracelet. She returned to Mexico and wore the bracelet nearly everyday. After my parents immigrated to the United States, my grandma visited us a lot and always spoke of the lovely indigenous people of Panama. (I was little so unfortunately I don’t remember much, but I remember she wished to visit again someday). Unfortunately, my grandma died before she got the chance to visit Panama again. A couple of months after she died, I hadn’t realized it, but she left the bracelet in my jewelry box, and that is how it came to be in my possession.
