Coat of Arms
This symbol is the Coat of Arms of Mexico, which represents my family’s history in this country. My grandparents came to this country in hopes of a better life for their children. My family has held on to their cultural roots and appreciate their history. This symbol represents victory and honor. Our family has come a long way because we’ve found a home for ourselves and have made better lives for ourselves when we fled from a country that didn't feel like home. In history, this symbol was a sign of rebirth as the Aztecs saw an eagle devouring a rattlesnake on a cactus. Upon seeing this, the Aztecs decided to build here, and the city they built became the capital known as Tenochtitlan. Our family values where we came from and where our ancestors came from. We look at the past because it gives us the inspiration to make our future.
