Clover Pin

Clover Pin from Hungary
Clover Pin from Hungary

This clover pin belonged to my great grandmother, who immigrated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Austria-Hungary in 1923. She was five years of age at the time of her immigration, and immigrated with her mother, father and her baby sister. Communist rule forced them to seek work in America. My great grandmother's family was very true to their catholic religion, and the Communist regime was anti-religion. This was another primary factor that ultimately lead to their immigration. This pin came from Hungary, and is important to my heritage, because it is more than just a clover pin. It represents the story of my heritage.
