Claddagh Ring
Meet my great, great grandmother Margaret. She was born in Ireland but then immigrated to Hell's Kitchen. Even though I wasn't able to meet her because she passed away before I was born, this object helps me remember her. This object is her Claddagh Ring. It was given to her by her husband in the 1940's, so it is around 80 years old. She would wear it on her left hand facing in to show that she was married. This ring represents love, loyalty, and friendship. The heart represents love. The crown represents loyalty. The hands represent friendship. Even though we don't know how much this ring was priced, it is priceless to us.
