I am going to tell you about my family's Christmas tradition- Christmas tamales. On Christmas Eve, my grandma and I make tamales for the family. We only make it once a year, which is sad, because they are super yummy. Keep reading to find out more about my Christmas tamales. 
    You might be wondering why we only make tamales for Christmas. These tamales are from Guatemala  There are several reasons for this. They take a lot of work. For example, we need to clean the banana leaves and that is hard.  Sometimes we make a lot so we can freeze some for other occasions, such as New Year’s Eve or New Year's Day. If we made tamales more often, then they would not be so special. If you are asking yourself why I am the only one helping, it is because my mom and her siblings already had their turn, so now it is my turn to help and learn.

  The time I spend with my grandma is very special to me because I love her and I can help and learn from her. I will always carry on this Christmas tradition to my kids. The time we spend together is also very important to me because I love making memories I will have forever.
