Chocolate Babka

My object is called babka. It is a lot like chocolate challah (challah is bread) but it has some differences. It is from Eastern Europe but the name is Polish. It is used for a dessert, or you can eat it on some special occasions. The great thing is, ANYONE can eat it! One time when I went to my grandparents house (I forgot what special occasion it was) we had babka. It was the first time I’ve had it and I thought it was really good. That interaction made me think that foreign baked goods are really good, especially the ones you wouldn't think of.
I chose babka because it tastes really good. And it is a food of my culture. Babka teaches people that people in Eastern Europe had enough wealth to get chocolate and bread. Babka is connected to my Great Grandpa Joe. He came over to the US in somewhere between 1885-1910’s. Babka is connected to my Great Grandpa because he is from Poland and he is Jewish. If you didn’t know, babka originated in Jewish communities.
I would like to ask my ancestors how would you come up with something like babka? Why would you put 2 very different things together? My final thought is that Babka is an Eastern European dessert and it is very very good.
