Chinese vase
My family heirloom is a chinese vase. This vase in particular was purchased in London, many decades ago. This item had been purchased by my now 84 year old grandma, Patricia Zamoyska. My grandma no longer remembers much, due to her Dementia, but when she was younger she had a great love for traveling the world. The reason we have this vase in our living room today is because my grandma would frequently go to London looking for chinese pottery. This piece is a single example from her extraordinary collection of greatly sought after pottery. My grandma loved these artworks made of clay so much that she even had a dealer whom she worked with constantly to source more pieces for herself. London was and still is renowned for their interior design shops and markets, which was the reason for my Grandma's frequent shopping trips there. Oftentimes, she would bring back souvenirs and gifts from her exhilarating adventures. The excursions which she embarked on a long time ago could sometimes be solo trips. This means that my grandma would go on trips alone for long periods of time in order to have a much greater understanding of the world as a whole. When I jumped back in time researching and remembering my grandma's stories, i rediscovered that my grandma left Northern Ireland at the age of Eighteen, so she could begin solo traveling. When she did this she did everything she could to experience anything!
