I watched the video about Misa Sugiura and her mother's family crest.

This Chinese calligraphy set is significant to me as it sparked my interest in Chinese culture and writing. Born in Beijing, I only stayed there for about two years before moving to the US. I felt like I never really got to explore my culture, and I always missed my grandparents and my great-grandparents. I distinctly remember one day when I was sitting by the window, staring out at the dusty playground across our house, when my grandparents came with a box of magic. There were four lovely Chinese calligraphy brushes, an intricate stone stamp, a covered plate of red powder, a black ink mixer, an ink stick, a beautiful brush holder, and a small bowl to hold the ink. My grandparents demonstrated how to create the ink, how to stamp the stone into the red dust, and how to write Chinese characters with the brushes. I was having a lot of fun learning about Chinese culture back then, and currently, I still love using this calligraphy set. It reminds me of China and my grandparents.
