Chess Set

In Fun

My artifact is a handmade chess set from Warsaw, Poland. It is my dad’s, Paul Strand, and he got it from my grandfather, Martin Strand in 1978, when he was thirteen. It was made in the 1970s. It is important because it was a present from my grandfather to my dad, and now a present from my dad to me. My grandfather was in Poland because he worked for a company called Norton. They sent him there to design a manufacturing facility. It’s special because it has been in my family and my dad was just learning chess when he got it.
