Challah Bread

This is Challah. It is a type of bread used by Jews to celebrate Shabbat (or the Sabbath.) It is made by taking three long strips of bread dough, braiding them together, glazing the top with egg glaze, and baking it. You can probably find lots of recipes online. It is very important to me and my family, because we are Jewish and we use Challah every week on Fridays. You can use it in many different ways.
In my Pre-K, we used to make Challah with sprinkles on it. My family also uses Challah to make french toast, usually on Monday or Tuesday, because it’s better when the Challah is a little stale. You can buy Challah rolls at the grocery store, cut them in half (horizontally) and put butter in between the halves. Then microwave it for 20 seconds and you have a quick and easy (and yummy) breakfast! I like Challah because you can be very creative with it by making different things out of it.
I really recommend Challah. So remember when you’re at the grocery store to buy some Challah and be creative with what you make!

Here are some things I recommend putting on or in Challah: raisins, meat (chicken sandwiches on Challah are very good!), butter, sprinkles, salt, some different spices (like cinnamon), scrambled eggs, or anything you want!
