Normally for me, favorites are impossible to choose. And why does one have to be the best when they all can? This is why I had no favorite of pretty much anything. Until I found my favorite game. Celeste. Celeste is literally my perfect game. The movement is amazing, the challenges are rewarding, and I keep coming back every few months to play all of it again, which I very rarely do with most of my games. If you like platformer games, I guarantee you will enjoy Celeste.The main reason I love it is because no matter how good you are at the game, you can always get better. On new year’s eve of 2025, I managed to get my 2nd sub-hour speedrun on my first try. I think part of that reason was me being like “I’m probably not going to get under an hour, so I’m going to practice some difficult skips” and then I did those skips successfully, saving me just enough time. By the end, I was like “wait, I can actually do this. This is actually going to happen!” I was so excited when I finally hit the flag on the top of the mountain and saw my time of 59:11. It wasn’t my best time, but it was my second best and it happened when I least expected it to. I also definitely could have done better if I actually tried my hardest.
