The cardinal is a bird in my family that has been very well appreciated. My great grandfather as we call him by his nickname "Squocker",  His favorite animal is a cardinal and when he died everytime we see a cardinal it reminds my family of him. He was from ontario canada as my grandmother was also and my grandmother immigrated here in the 1960's to 1970's after she met my grandfather on a cruise who is from brooklyn, new york. When we see a cardinal on our property we know for sure "Squocker" came to visit.
