Broomstick

Great-grandchild of im/migrant or more
The broomstick was passed down from each person in my family who has gotten married. I'm unsure how far it goes back but I know it's been in my family for over 75 years. It's tradition with it, is that during the wedding after they are pronounced "Husband & Wife" the groom and bride jump over the broomstick signifying new beginnings and abundance in what's to come for their new chapter. My great grandpa started a new part of the tradition by signing the broomstick in a way for future marriages to know who had come before them.
