Sometimes you can find out more about a person based off what they wear; my equivalent to that are my bracelets, plus a ring I always wear as well. They consist of a threaded bracelet of a rainbow, a muted-multicolored friendship bracelet with tasles at the ends, a faded black ring with stars on it, a brown wristlet with the sun, moon, and stars pressed into the leather with gold ink, and a black wristband with square studs that ties with a buckle at the back. All of these little, tacky peices of jewelry are important to me and say something different about my identity.

The rainbow represents the communities I'm apart of and continuously fight for the rights for.
The tasled one represents how my creativity continues to attach itself as a part of me, even if the colors falter sometimes.
The ring represents the media I consume and the characters I connect with.
The wristlet represents the sun; the sun god, Apollo, and where my religious beliefs fall and align.
The wristband represents the alternative community, and the values I hold near and dear to my heart.

Jewlery will always connect people because it can mean something different to every single person. They can represent culture, intrests, religion, political affiliation, and so much more. And the fact one bracelet can mean something different to every person isn't the important part. it's the fact that it means something at all.
