When my grandmother came to the United States, she came with her 3 children and brought all of her jewelry with her. That is one of the many things that I like about my grandmother, she always has jewelry on her, most of the time it’s bright, shiny gold. She gave me my gold bracelet as a birthday gift about 2 years ago. It was made in Ecuador, custom made from gold that was from her jewelry; to fit my hand. Being that the bracelet was put together in Ecuador makes it so special to me because not only do I connect to my Ecuadorian heritage, but I also feel connected with my grandmother. It’s the kind of feeling that, I feel as if she’s always around me, even when she isn’t. There are 4 people in my family including myself,that have this kind of bracelet (same design and concept) those which are, my grandmother, my mother, my aunt, and myself.
