The glove was invented in 1743 by Jack Broughtons, but not until October 1818 Broughtons style of the glove were used for competitive fights. I have been using boxing gloves since April 1, 2019. It all started when my brother recommended it to me, just like how my father recommended it to him. My brother said to me “ I learned about boxing because back in the day dad would be watching it in the living room and I was intrigued, I couldn’t do it cause you know mom, she doesn’t like or even the thought of it and I told you since I  never had a brother so I treat you like one.”  Ever since it’s been a battle with me, my brother and dad against my mom, because my mom didn’t let my brother do it when he was little, how was he gonna let me, a girl? I would always ask my mom why she didn’t like boxing or the idea of me doing it and she said: “ Boxing is a guys sport, women shouldn’t be doing it, you go into the ring and then they punch you and your dead, the people that do it are crazy they are fighting each other for money”. But at the end of the day, my mom ended up letting me do it and in the future, I will continue with boxing.
