Beatles record
My object is the Abbey Road vinyl record from my dead grandpa’s collection. I never particularly liked the Beatles until I got a record player. I had just gotten a turntable when I found it under a pile of other records. I took this vinyl from his collection and really enjoyed how it sounded so I took it home. The Beatles record had been sitting in a dusty moist basement for many years so it had accumulated a lot of dust and crackles, after cleaning the disc it was mostly better. The outer cover is missing, with only the old crumbling paper inner sleeve remaining. The record has several visual scratches but none of them affect the sound thankfully. The color is a deep black to be expected of older vinyls. Whenever I play the record I am reminded of him and his personality. He was never too kind but he loved me and the rest of the family dearly. At the end of the record after waiting 15 seconds I discovered a 45 second hidden track which really reminded me of him. The music was revolutionary for their time, considered the first of many to play their type of music. The Beatles made their own original songs unlike others at the time who just lyricized others songs. I don't know when or how my family immigrated to America, just that we came from Germany and some other places.
