Beach painting
A painting of a beach I got this painting from my dad in Dominicano and it is a painting of the beach. It is made out of canvas and wood. I got the painting from a trip to Dominican Republic on a family vacation. My dad is from the Dominican Republic.
It reminds me of the beauty in the country and beaches all over the Carribean culture. The painting shows the landscape of Dominican Republic. It reminds me of the culture: its farming, fishing, and music.
Other things about my culture that’s important other than the land is bachata, a dance (similiar to salsa) and martinetes are important to our cutlure. Religion, praying to Christ and Jesus, is often done down at the beach. Family is very important to my culture as well. All of this reminds me of my family.
If you I could ask my ancestors one question it would be, “If they believe the land was a gift from God?”
