Bag
The Bag
by Hugo Vorderwuelbecke
The paper bag came from Niagara Falls N.Y. My great great grandparents opened a market there. They both came from Sicily at the turn of the century. They got married in Niagara Falls N.Y and opened the shop.
It has been passed down from my great great grandparents to my great grandma then my great grandma to my grandma, then my grandma. Soon the bag will be mine. And it will hang in a frame on a wall.
During the depression my great great grandpa let people take food without paying. People said they would pay him back but not everyone did. And I think my great great grandpa is very generous for doing that. The bag is special because he touched it and had it and it makes me feel good, happy and thankful.
