A worn and dirty cover of the album.

I chose to write about my baby photo album. I personally am not an immigrant neither are my parents. But my parents also have a photo album. My grandparents from both sides are immigrants, all of them coming from Cambodia. When they moved to America, they had nothing but each other. The US was  drastically different from Cambodia: a new language, new culture, new start--it was a flood of change, confusion, and adaptation.  When they had my parents, they decided to create a photo album documenting my parents’ journeys and their life in America. Each picture subtly captures my grandparents' progression. My parents decided to create one for me, though a little different from what my grandparents created. I have my own story, a story without the same struggle and rebuilding, but with privilege. Each picture in my book shows the results of my grandparents' work. A third generation that was born in America and raised by Americans. My photo album is a continuation of my grandparents journey, starting from a new chapter.
