Assorted coins

When my grandmother died a few years ago me and my family were in Malaysia where she was at the time, I didn’t know much about her and I never really spoke to her as she didn’t speak English the only language I know to me she was a person relatively unknown to myself, yet after her death I began learning of her more from my relatives and close family. They obviously knew more about her than I did as I hadn’t met her before she got dementia. Although what I know of her is she loved singing and traveling the world and while I have many items that could represent this I personally chose the assortment of old coins she had, from the British Shilling to the Swedish Franc or some old Chinese money there was all sorts of coins, and when mother migrated to the US for school she met my father. A few years before my grandmother's passing we went to clean out her apartment as she moved away. I guess I just inherited the coin collection. And when my grandmother passed I felt less sadness than regret for not getting to know her.
