art supplies
When you look at this you may think it's just some art supplies, but to me it's more than an object. My parents grew up in Myanmar where they gave birth to my oldest sister, during that time there was a war going on and they had hard times living, so they had to flee leaving their loved one behind. They went to the refugee camp in Thailand for safety and better care, that's when my oldest brother and I were born, including my younger brother, I was the 3rd oldest among my siblings. When I turned 3 or 4 around that age my family moved to the U.S in Minnesota, there we started a new life, then my other 3 siblings were born in the U.S, we were a big family. My family was not a perfect family, We have our ups and downs, and that's when I discovered art for myself. It started off with my oldest sister back in our home land. We didn't have art supplies like the U.S, whenever my sister draws or paints I’ll join her. That's when I started to find my comfort and my future. I have a hard time talking and expressing myself so to do it I show it through art. As I grew I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, I wanted to include art in everything and I wanted to spend my life doing it. It was my dream to continue what I love to do, without my sister I don't think I'll ever find my comfort. She is now a designer at the University of Minnesota in her 2nd year of college. These art supplies are my comfort, my future and the reminder to never give up and reach my dream.
