My Grandfather, who although, came from a family who was not the wealthiest, built his business from the ground up. Specifically his own cab business. One day while the queen of Sweden was here for a social event, her chauffeur was not able to pick her up. My grandfather, Daniel Lane, was working that day and was near by where the queen was, so he got the honor of driving Christina, the queen of Sweden, to her social event. For this the king and queen of Sweden awarded my grandfather with a medal and a letter of thanks. This medal and letter means a lot to my family because it proves that even the littlest, with time, can become the greatest. Even though I never got to hear the story first hand, or know all the details, I see my grandfather as a role model and hope to do something as great as he did someday.
