This is a picture of Frank and Mary Mingione. They first got married in Naples, Italy and immigrated to the United States in the late 1930s after recognizing the tension brewing in Europe before World War II. Both of which came through Ellis Island and moved into a small apartment in New York City. There, they had five kids in the span of a little over two years and decided to leave them at the front steps of an orphanage.
