An Irish Toast

Irish tapestry in our dining room.

My family and I have a tapestry of an Irish Toast that we keep in our dining room. It has a yellow beige color to it and it is decorated with shamrocks, different crests, and people. My mother has the original tapestry that her father gave to her when she was a young girl. It reminds us of our heritage, where we are from, and who we are as people. My family migrated from Ireland in the late Victorian era. Our story is unique, because different people will view certain things as special, and to some, a tapestry in a dining room means nothing; to me, it’s a reminder of my true identity. My family story connects to other family stories, because everyone, no matter who, where or when, has something that is a part of them and their roots.
