My mother immigrated from Vietnam to France in 1975. In 2005 my parents got engaged, and my grandmother on my dad's side gave these earrings as a gift to my mom. they had two weddings, one in France and one in Vietnam. At both of the weddings she wore those earrings. Now they are kept in its own jewelry holder in her closet. it is connected to my identity because it represents my Vietnamese and my French heritage coming together.
