american flag
I can't imagine what it was like when you just graduated high school and you're already off to fight in a war. It is your 20th birthday and you are spending it in the woods in a country that you don't belong to not knowing if you are about to die. Every step you take could give you serious injuries or worse. This was every day for my grandpa. He was a marine in the military in his late teens and early 20’s fighting in vietnam. After he served in the military he was given a flag and some medals. (they got lost) This story is important to me because my grandpa met my grandma in the military. My grandma was a nurse that helped my grandpa when he got injured/ shot in the arm and if that did not happen I would not be here today.
