When my grandmother Carmen was 5 years old, her family gave her a Shirley Temple doll. She came over to New York from Puerto Rico when she was 10, she brought the doll with her and to this day, she still has it sitting on top of her shelf. This doll connects me closer to my grandma and her childhood. It also gives me a better intake on what she had an interest in as a little 5 year old girl. I want to be able to have an item from my childhood to look back on and have story to tell from it when I become her age.
