My object is the memoir of my great uncle. He wrote it in nineteen thirty seven right as the holocaust was starting. He wrote it in Germany where he talks about many subjects, including the holocaust, his hopes and dreams, his current life, and his ancestry. The memoir is a window that looks into what life was like in the nineteen thirties. He goes into detail about his family, accomplishments, and daily life and he even makes up poems that he writes in the memoir. A lot of the memoir is in German, so it is hard to know what is going on but I can still learn a ton about my great-grandparents and even my grandparents. It is very important to me because this is really the only thing that I have from my ancestors. The document traces our family lines back over eight generations to the late seventeen hundreds. My family does not really talk about our ancestry, and traditions to the point where I do not even know much about my grandparents.
