This ring has been in my family for 117 years. It bears the initials of my grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents on the inside and outside of the band. The inside says 1904 F.B. to R.F. and W.T. to D.B. On the exterior it reads, J.M.T to M.B.T. The ring is a size 4 or 5 and it is 14k gold. My great great grandfather Francis Burke gave it to his wife Rose Friel when they were married in 1904. The ring was then pass reluctantly to their son in law, Warren Travers to give to their daughter, Dorothy Burke. The marriage between Warren and Dorothy was frowned upon because Warren was the son of a Portuguese immigrant and the Burkes were Americans with a very strictly Irish heritage. however, the marriage thankfully took place in 1944 and the ring was passed onto my grandparents, James Tobin and Mary Bernadette Travers who were married in 1965.
