Zongzi
As a child, I always looked forward to the Dragon Boat Festival. Because at that time, every family would make Zongzi in China.
Zongzi is a traditional Chinese food. Its materials are rice, honey date, and bamboo leaves. There are sweet and salty two flavors. Both are very delicious.
I still remember when I made Zongzi the first time. I can’t wrap stuffing with leaves. The rice always falls out. My sister and brother laugh at me. My mom taught me patiently.
Dragon Boat Festival is May 5th of the lunar calendar. I make Zongzi on this day every year. My parents have passed away many years. My siblings and I live in a different country. Zongzi is a memory of missing my brother and sister, and a warm family.
My son likes eating Zongzi very much. He said this is a real taste of Chinese. Although we live in America. we still keep many Chinese traditions, especially our eating habits.
