The first cards I ever bought.

As an African American growing up in Chicago, I was expected to act a certain way and like certain things. One of those things was playing card games which was frowned upon in the black community. However, I wanted to try something new and play Yugioh for the first time. The cards are standard playing card size and are made from paper. I was very excited that I decided to play that days it changed my life forever. After I played the game, I felt liberated. I no longer cared about what society said I can and cannot do. Yugioh card a very important to me because it gave me a way to express my and break the stereotype of what an African American should be interested in. This object connects to my identity because without the card game i would be the person I am now.
